Hvítserkur is distilled and bottled in Iceland by the award-winning Hovdenak Distillery.

This special product is uniquely distilled several times using only geothermal energy and our most valuable ingredient is our precious water which is known to be the finest in the world.

This special white rum is fermented in the Caribbean with molasses from Jamaica, the last distillation is done by our unique still in Iceland that only uses geothermal energy. The outcome is crispy clean, smooth rum with a rich character and pure Icelandic water. Perfect for your favorite cocktail.

The tale is as old as time says that Hvítserkur was a big troll that wanted to break down the churchbells in Þingeyrarklausturskirkju in Iceland. But fortunately, the road to the church was more challenging than expected, the sunlight came and shined upon the troll and turned him into a big rock, later named Hvítserkur. Icelandic trolls are not Christian and they did not like the sound or sight of any churches or churchbells.

The Norwegian family name Hovdenak was chosen for the distillery when it was founded in 2018 in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. After a few years of experimenting, the perfect product was born and got the name Stuðlaberg Gin.
