Eyjafjallajökull DVD
Description
This is the no. 1 DVD about Eyjafjallajökull volcano 2010
Eyjafjallajökull. The volcanic eruption started in the mountain pass of Fimmvörðuháls on 21 March 2010. This dramatic eruption was extremely spectacular but posed little danger. In the immediate vicinity of the eruption lies one of Iceland’s highest mountains, Eyjafjallajökull. It calmly waited for the Fimmvörðuháls eruption to finish on 13 April before putting on a show of its own on 14 April. This eruption in the mountain’s summit crater took place beneath a 200 metre thick layer of ice. The heat melted the ice and caused ash to spew into the air, bringing air traffic in northern Europe to a standstill for several days. This second eruption lasted until 23 May 2010. We follow both eruptions from start to finish.
