Crowberry (Empetrum nigrum) is a shiny black berry found in subarctic climates, their typical habitat is on moorlands, tundra, and in spruce forests. Crowberries grow all over Iceland, ripening from late July.
The berries have a bitter and fresh taste. They have traditionally been served with dairy foods, or pressed for juice. Because of its high content of Vitamin C and antioxidants, crowberries have been over the centuries an important dietary supplement for Icelanders.
The Crowberry liqueur captures the elements of Icelandic nature, tradition, elegance, and taste. Silver medallist at the prestigious ISW in Berlin 2011
