Kvika
Description
"After more than 40,000 earthquakes, an eruption was born. It was one of the most perfect small eruptions Icelanders had ever seen. Not the traditional ash-spewing, menacing and curvy eruption we are used to, but a small, Hövrian eruption in a closed valley, near Reykjavík. I went there late the first day with photographers I know and was there, that night I met an old friend, Björn Steinbekk. I knew when I saw Björn that something had changed. The eyes were glowing, the smile almost wider than the face and it suddenly became clear to me that Björn was in love with a volcano" Andri Snær Magnason.
Kvika is Björn Steinbekk's first photobook and tells the story of the volcanic eruption in Geldingadal, from the beginning until the magma stopped flowing to the surface, but at the same time an unusual love story that surprises.
